WORLD’S ONLY CORN PALACE ANNOUNCES THE CORN PALACE CUP: 

MINI-FOOTBALL INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY MATCH

(Mitchell, S.D.) - The World’s Only Corn Palace is excited to announce that in collaboration with the Mitchell Sports and Events Authority and the Mitchell Soccer Association the Corn Palace will be hosting the Brazil Arena Soccer National Team vs. USA Arena Soccer National Team in an international friendly match on Sunday April 14^th at 2pm.  The game will be the first of its kind in the upper Midwest featuring international soccer stars that have previously competed at the international level with FIFA and played in the Champions League.

“We are ecstatic the opportunity to host such a high caliber matchup involving international soccer talent.” Said Scott Schmidt, Corn Palace Director.  “Anytime you put a worldwide spotlight on a facility such as the Corn Palace it is a win-win situation.   We feel the game of soccer is a sport that can be showcased in South Dakota and the Midwest.    With this type of event we are able to create that intrigue and awareness from a global platform.”

The Brazil vs. USA game with be the focal point of the weekend with a youth soccer camp and tournament held in conjunction bringing youth soccer to the main floor of the Corn Palace.  
“The opportunity we have to capitalize and grow the sport of soccer through this event is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the youth of our region.” Said Chris Pollreisz, President of the Mitchell Soccer Association.  “To provide a chance of development from the coaches of the Brazil and USA International teams is simply extraordinary for the youth of Mitchell and South Dakota!

Tickets for the Corn Palace Cup: Brazil vs. USA Mini-Football International Friendly will be $25.00 and will go on sale February 1^st at 10am.   All tickets will be General Admission.  You can purchase tickets at the Corn Palace Box Office, by visiting www.cornpalace.com or by calling the Corn Palace Box Office at 605-995-8430.
